    Some strong names in the UK team: among others, Raj Jansari (backgammon giant #38 in 2011) and Rick Janowski (inventor of the Janowski formula and #1 on GridGammon in May this year). We’ll need some luck, because these guys’ performance rates promise to be of world class level!

    Guy Van Middelem loses to Simon Barget, who played better and was more lucky as well. Nothing to do about it, except for working and studying harder… Geert Van der Stricht will play on Monday evening; his opponent: Rick Janowski…

    Mixed emotions: despite an initial 8-1 lead, Geert loses from Rick Janowski, who plays at world class level. But I manage to win against Gaz Owen; we both play well, and I’m the more lucky one… Belgium vs UK: 1-2. Michel Lamote still has to play, against BG Giant Raj Jansari, in an attempt to save the draw and secure a precious point…

    Michel defeats Raj Jansari, Belgium vs UK ends in a draw, 2-2. A fine match by both players, and near the end Michel got a bit lucky, leading 7-5, accepting a (too) early cube, and winning a gammon after a volatile hitting contest.
