The Belgian Individiual Championship is a national competition spanning the whole year and culminating in a champion. Champion for 2013 was Geert Van der Stricht, who won an exciting match to Guy Van Middelem; read report.
The 2014 edition will be held in two divisions. Players are put into Division 1 or 2 according to their results in 2013. The winner of Division 1 will be the champion for 2014. At the end of the year, three players from Division 1 will demote to Division 2, and three players from Division 2 will promote to Division 1.
