The winner of the Belgian Individual Championship 2017 was Metin Ates. Metin started in Division 2, where he ended second in his group, thereby securing himself a spot in the quarter-final. The Belgian Individual Championship 2017 has started! Who will be the successor of Walter Meuwis, champion of BIC 2016?
As in 2016, players are divided in two divisions, depending on their past performance in the BIC. Division 2 has two groups, A and B. The draw for the pairings was done during the final of BIC 2016 on December 16, 2016, in the Brasseries du Longchamp, Uccle. The playing schedule and results can be consulted via the link “BIC results 2017” in the menu.
With respect to 2016, the rules for the play-off have been changed, increasing the chances of D2 players to win the title. The full rules can be checked online: BIC 2017 regulations – D1 and D2.
Tournament director of BIC 2017 is Kristoffer De Weert. Please report your results to him by email to stier64@hotmail.com. The BIC 2017 referee committee is completed by Alain Chif, Maurits Pino, and Guy Van Middelem.
